WHY DO WOMEN STAY

AU is pleased to publish this heart rending post from contributor Yvonne Maria Wickes:

Why do I stay?
Words can’t convey,
The pain I feel,
It doesn’t seem real.
Life’s a blur, too many tears,
Can’t leave now, too many fears.
Be quiet, shut up; stop the kids from crying,
Where have you been? Why are you lying?
Where’s my food? Why isn’t it made?
Get a job then you’ll get paid!
All you seem to do is moan,
I have no money for the phone.
The car outside is for me,
Get round the shops and get my tea!
Life is weary; it’s hard to think,
I’ll feel better after that drink.
Kids are crying, I’m feeling low,
It’s definitely time to go.
My only way out was to write a letter,
Maybe now things will get better.
So if you need a hand and feeling low,
Not really sure of where to go,
A friendly face, a cuppa tea,
“My Sisters Place”
Is the place to be!
