Where has faith gone…

If one has faith
Then one is untouchable.
Fear can only prevail
Where there is no faith!

Are you afraid of something? The Dark, Death, Failure or financial ruin, CoViD 19?
Then ask yourself why?
If you are afraid for yourself or others, in any way
Then look to your lack of faith.

So, Faith in what?
God? A higher force? The Holy Spirit? Yourself and your own abilities even?
Whichever you choose, you will be right.
They are all on the same path and ultimately, Faith is trust!

If you can trust in any of the above
Then there is Hope.
Hope itself can bring Salvation
Salvation from the limits of ones own perception!

There is something out there,
In the dark AND the light.
The light is where we came from and it awaits our return,
But the Dark can envelop you and hold back your progress.

So the next time you let fear limit your perception
and your ultimate abilities and prospects.
Look to your faith, and go forth without fear.
Use it as a prop. A cane of reassurance or even a weapon against darkness!

If you truly have faith
Then you cannot lose.
You become invincible
and realise the immortality of God’s spark within you.

Go forth with faith.

Cold Like Steel
Soft like Light
Slow and Heavy
or the way illuminated

Within a finite span
A limitless quest
Decay and Death
The price for pure knowledge

To lay to rest
In infinite peace
Gone yet,
Beyond the Veil

The Experience
The Wisdom

There is nothing you or I can do about it!

I lay here, waiting to die
Looking ahead at the room but not seeing it
Waiting…
My mind racing.

I can see my loved ones around me
In the peripheral vision of my glazed eyes
As I stare straight ahead at nothing.

I would look straight through them anyway
I am too weak…
To even turn my head, to look upon them.

I am transfixed
Seemingly in and out of cognition
Yet always thinking…
How cruel the mind!

My life plays back
In that mind’s eye
How I wish the relentless thoughts could stop

I consider myself a Driver
Of a vehicle that is now worn out
Pushed to the side of the road.

I will leave it soon to go home
No luggage or possessions will go with me, nor even the clothes I wear.
Only memories and the love in my heart

Home?
What does it mean?
Will it be Alien to me?

My home is with my loved ones here, yet I know I must eventually leave them
Near Death, I realise how cruel ‘life’ is
To them…
And to me.

I despair.
They can never see me in my physical form again
I can never hold, touch or even speak to them?

Better to have lived than not?
I don’t know.
Thinking about it alarms me, brings tears to my eyes!

They dry the tears running down my cheek
But they cannot heal my heart
Slowly breaking from inside out.

How did I get to this?
I know I must go but I don’t want to!
Will it be soon?

I am afraid.
But worse than that…
I am missing my loved ones before I have even left them.

More tears at this thought.
Oh my God it is a vicious cycle!
Still my mind will not rest…
My breathing becomes laboured.

I want to tell them I love them
But I have not the strength to speak
Even to look at them and smile? No.

The strength is ebbing…
I feel it!
Hard now, to even think.

I see the light
Fading it is
My eyes they are closing…

I feel my weight lifted
The tearing of Body and Soul
As I exhale for the last time…

Nobody knows how long they have
and there is so much more to do

You may be tempted from your path
and that is up to you

As you get close to seeing the light
the deception becomes so clear

Distractions abound, TV’s, the phone
To stop you getting near

Look beyond and you will see
the task that lies ahead

Be true to those that need you most
and keep your faith instead.

Fasting Prayer…

A compilation from holy scriptures.

I shall fast but not show it
My countenance shall not betray me
I shall anoint my head and wash my face
That my Father knows my fast is only for him

I shall be humbled in prayer
With my head bowed on my chest
Fasting to loosen the bonds of wickedness
That the holy spirit may be rested upon me

Satan shall not break my self control
Nor inflict temptation upon me
No bread, no meat, nor wine shall enter me
That I may live not by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Almighty.

I shall discipline my body and keep it under control
That I may be true to my intentions
And, when my fasting is ended, I shall be hungry
Then I shall drink and eat to the glory of God.

Little things …

When we first met
I was down and low
With no zest for life
No get up and go

A survivor at best,
I struggled each day
No future horizons
And darkness held sway

Saddened and lonely
Uncertain and blue
My life lacked direction
And focus its true

Then a small light appeared
Sparked by kind words
Supported by actions
That cut through my curse

Those deeds were from you
And as small as they seem
They brought me great hope
And rebuilt self esteem

You probably know not
The influence you had
In making someone happy
That was previously sad

But its there nonetheless
And I am no longer down
I thank you so much
For a life turned around

Written on behalf of a previously depressed person wishing to express their gratitude to someone, who incrementally improved their life through little random acts of kindness that collectively made a difference. What you may deem ‘Little Things’ can be a big deal to those living in the gloom of depression. I hope this brings inspiration…

Last Rites Through Prayer…

As my dear friend Bill faces transition, I joined him in a short prayer service delivering a special prayer which is posted below:

Lord hear our prayer
Brought to you in hope and faith and love.
We are gathered here in front of you,
United at the doorway of your light.

As the way into your kingdom
Opens up for our friend Bill,
Let him not have cause to be afraid.
For he kneels before you, penitent in his faith oh Lord.

Lord, let Bill’s heart and mind be unburdened,
as he has made his peace on earth.
In preparation for his journey,
When he will be guided into your light.

Material possessions mean nothing now,
And Bill will not mourn their loss.
For his needs will be met within you,
And the love that you surround him with hereafter.

Bill asks that those loved ones left behind,
Receive your strength and courage.
That they may be calm during the storm ahead,
As grief takes its hold, as it must, for a time.

Let those who have known Bill,
Remember him with fondness.
Looking back upon those good memories they share,
and strengthening their bond

Lord, Bill would ask that you kindly allow him,
to gift his loved ones with his spiritual presence at times,
To bring them your grace and mercy,
when they need upliftment in their lives.

We ask this in thy name oh Lord, which is love and peace and light.

Amen

The above prayer brought Bill much comfort (Bill described it as “Beautiful”). You could adapt the prayer for your own loved one(s) by changing the name.

Ever Near…

Today I saw an Angel

Bringing Love from Them to You

It was crouching by your bedside

I knew just what to do

I told you it was there for you

The Energy so clear

Reaching out your hand to feel it

You sensed your loved ones near

They feel your pain, so they come close

Oh, if only you could see

A veil between, but nonetheless

Around us they can be

“Fear not” they say, “the life you lead

Nor feel lonely or unsure

Guidance comes from up above

With Love and Light so pure

Walk the path and know your goals

Set your life-bar high

Then walk in Faith, and Hope, and Love

And you can touch the sky

Know that we are here for you

In every step you take

And when you falter on the way

Learn from mistakes you make

Yes, we could make change, its true

But that would break a rule

Just know that when your time has come

We will pick you up from School.”

The Spirit Portal

He gazed upwards at the Portal,

that perfect ring of light.

A Tunnel with voices and sometimes form,

there, both day and night.

His face was one of distant thought,

pondering what came through.

A mix of dread and wonderment,

as loved ones called him to.

He knew a Journey lay ahead,

yet could not/would not face the fact.

That he had to leave those that he loved,

an awful scene to act!

“You’re all just waiting for me to die”,

a thought he voiced as true!

A reflection of his mind perhaps,

knowing there was nothing they could do.

Oh yes, they had tried several times,

when all, but Hope, was lost.

But even Chemo, his ‘Medicine’,

came at just ‘too Great’ a cost.

The Soul was willing, the Doctors too,

to try and gain more time.

To no avail, he lost his strength,

had reached his ‘End of Line’.

The Portal, it was steady now,

a floating Tunnel so bright.

The vision clearer, what to do,

emotion mixed with fright.

“Fear not” said I, to re-assure,

we know your journey is near.

The hands extend to guide you home,

just trust, the path is cleared.

There must have been a threshold crossed,

when his mind could finally rest.

A leap-of-faith, accepting those so dear,

could continue, he’d done his best.

So there it is, he stayed his course,

and showed us not to fear.

To follow one’s path with fortitude,

inspirational, it’s so clear.

I miss him, and know he misses us,

but sometimes he lets us sense,

The Sounds, the Smells, the Physical Ways,

that made our Love feel so intense!

He is with me now, as I write this note,

and I thank him for our Love.

The message here, is everyone’s,

they stay close to us, those above.
